What are the direct download links to get Magento downloaded to my server?

The structure of URLs you need to pass to wget (or whatever is your download tool) for a direct download of Magento is this:

http://www.magentocommerce.com/downloads/assets/<version>/magento-<version><ext>

Where you need to replace:

• <version>: with the full version number string, that is e.g. 1.2.1 or 1.4.2.0
• <ext>: with the format you want, so either .zip, .tar.bz2 or .tar.gz
